Q. We are a national band with a booking agent. How do we contact you?
A. Please have your agent contact us either by email or during booking hours Monday thru Friday from 2 until 6.
Q.What time is sound check?
A. Sound check starts promptly at 5:30 for the headlining act. Be here to load in starting at 5:00. Bands who are late could possibly inncur penalties. Please be on time -- sound check is there for your benefit more than anyone elses.
Q. We are a local band. How do we get to play the 40 Watt?
A. With so many bands into down there are some important things to keep in mind
- PLAY SMALLER VENUES FIRST
Every band works their way up to the big stage. Before we can offer you a slot at the 40 Watt we need to know that you can put warm bodies in the room. Playing here costs more for sound and door production than smaller venues. Make sure you can bring enough people here to make it worth your time.
- SEND A CD AND PRESS KIT THEN WAIT A FEW WEEKS
We recieve hundreds of submissions each month and try to listen to the vast majority of them. The general rule of thumb is to wait about three weeks then give a call or email to our booking agent. If we don't respond or say yes - don't take it harshly. Keep working and good things will happen.
- I GOT A GIG. WHAT NOW?
Promote your show. Make up a poster. Hang them up around town. Bring some to us -- we will put some up too. Talk to your friends to make sure they are going to come out. Put your ABC submisison into Flagpole. Talk to WUOG. Do everything possible to make sure people come out and build your fan base.
