White Rabbit is a collective of diverse artists skilled in many forms and genres of artistic expression. Their quasi-improv ecstatic jams are reminiscent of influences new and old, like Snarky Puppy, Radiohead and My Morning Jacket or Buffalo Springfield, Jefferson Airplane and the Rolling Stones. Then add in a few ancient world music traditions from Mongolia (Tuvan), Africa (Tinariwen) and Peru (Inca/Andes). They strive to give 60's psychedelic folk-rock a modern renaissance with an exotic twist of dark, desert blues and world influences. Nothing is off-limits. Each color, each rhythm, each note - be it slow or fast, light or dark, happy or sad - gives meaning to each other, its opposition. In this way, music allows us to breathe emotionally and harmonize with the ebb and flow of Nature while communicating messages that words alone cannot transmit. They refuse to be pigeon-holed or labeled as this or that. Instead they continually break free from expectations to deliver something new and unexpected, transforming with new members and influences in a perpetual evolution. They aim to make each show a unique experience, channelling the ecstatic magic of collective celebration and expression of love and harmony. Their connection to each other and our audience is palpable and the ecstatic dynamics of tension and release in their compositions act like waters flowing or fire dancing. They allow for a very open leadership to naturally unfold within a very amorphous and frequently changing membership. Each show is tailored to the lineup and oriented toward special guests and audience participation - Together they embody a chameleon that can shape-shift together to suit the environment and find our most efficient mode of instrumentation and song leadership. The songs sing themselves - the musicians are merely multi-instrumental conduits of a universal emotive language in order to bring people together for the sake of dance - With the deepest reverence for the divine nature of all beings and Creation itself.
