Vacation Manor
Vacation Manor
Nashville-based indie rock/pop outfit Vacation Manor’s story might sound like something out of a feel-good collegiate flick, but it’s pure fact. Singer and guitarist Nathan Towles met Cole Young (drums), Dane Spearman (bass), and Carson Cody (keys) at a music festival in the band’s birthplace of Lynchburg, Virginia, while looking for musicians to join him at his college’s battle of the bands in Washington, D.C.
After winning the showcase with only one practice the night before, the group has not only continued playing together but has since coalesced into an integrated family in which each member brings something to the group even beyond musical talent and cohesion, further fueling the band’s trajectory.
Since releasing their first EP, Girl, Say, in 2016 and the follow-up single, “Fading,” in 2017, Vacation Manor has accrued more than 5 million Spotify streams and performed their unique brand of warm, bright, heartfelt musings around the Midwest and East Coast, including opening for acts such as The Lone Bellow, Dawes, Colony House, Dave Barnes, Magic Man, and more. It’s also possible you’ve heard some of the group’s songs in Starbucks, Gap, and Banana Republic.
The band’s latest album, Everything I Can’t Say Out Loud (releasing September 2018), was recorded live to 2-inch tape, capturing the four-piece’s imaginative and tight-knit feel, by producer/engineer Charlie Stavish (Ryan Adams, Foster the People, Imagine Dragons) in Joshua Tree, California.
Vacation Manor’s charming, chiming tunes include summery anthems and nostalgic autumnal afternoon vibes that will work on you year round — honest and reflective songs of romantic hopefulness, longing, loss, and rebirth — all told with earnest vocals, precise-yet- sparkling guitar hooks, soulful synth-scapes, dance-worthy drum and bass rhythms, and choruses both catchy and thoughtful.
CLOUDLAND
CLOUDLAND
Hey, compadres. We're CLOUDLAND. First things first, we are four best friends that love making music together. We grew up in the town of Fayetteville, GA. If anyone knows anything about Fayetteville, it's that after about eight o'clock everything in town closes down. So, on a Friday night the only thing for us to do was to make rock and roll in someone's basement. After about a year of messing around with songwriting and original material, we sat down to talk about getting serious. We all came to the conclusion that if we were gonna take a shot at pursuing music seriously, we were gonna do it together. We now reisde in Athens, Georgia as of August 2018. The unique thing about this group is that with every member comes a different musical influence. Hogan (Guitar) loves Dean DeLeo of Stone Temple Pilots, Drake (Bass) is influenced by Green Day & Kings Of Leon, Karmen (Drums) frequently plays Paramore, and Zach (Guitar/Vocals) learns from Johnny Cash. We hope these vast and different musical influences contribute to a completely new sound for our fans. We assure you we aren't just another pop band looking for fame. We're just four guys pursuing a passion to create and perform the best music we can offer. We want our music to be for people, for all people. Whether you've got it all figured out or you're falling apart, we hope these songs speak to you. At the end of the day, we are just four hometown guys with a drive to make something special. After all, we're not being anyone if we're not being us.
Xander Ward
Raised in the small town of Bainbridge, Georgia, Ward began to build his identity around song rather than around the southern culture. After a short stint living in Nashville, he returned to his home state to study at University of Georgia. Planning to return to Nashville, this first round of music comes as an extension of that plan.
